erev yalda ערב یلدا is a new holiday combining yalda, an iranian holiday celebrating the winter solstice, infused with jewish hanukkah traditions ❄️⭐️ I worked closely with rachel sumekh and tannaz sassooni to bring their idea to life—I created a moodboard, logo, poster, and booklet guide to promote this new holiday.

The poster is a collage of calligraphy and illustrations from Persian illuminated manuscripts from the 1500s with contemporary english translations of hafiz and rumi. the logotype is set in aktiv grotesk in english, farsi, and hebrew. the guide features stills and recipes from the first ever EY, poetry by hafiz with some guiding interpretation, and my own photography 🌹
